SimTex Software was a game development company, founded in 1988 by Steve Barcia and Ken Burd. It developed some of the most popular turn-based strategy games of the middle 90s: Master of Magic and the first two installments in the Master of Orion series.
In June 1995, it was acquired by Spectrum HoloByte, becoming the fourth development studio of the publisher. Before being closed in 1998, SimTex worked on some titles that would never see the light of day: Mech Lords and Guardians: Agents of Justice.
