Game description
Star Lords is a pre-relese, developmental version of Master of Orion that Steve Barcia and Simtex Software pitched to various publishers before being picked by MicroProse.
The core playing mechanics are the same as in Master of Orion: the player controls one of several space-faring races (including humans), explores and colonizes star systems, researches technologies and builds up space fleets and defences to tackle any enemy thread. However, some of the aspects of the game are more simplified than in Master of Orion, and the visuals are different. Nevertheless, this is a feature-complete game that is playable from start to finish and not limited in any way.
Star Lords was released to the public as a free download in 2001 as a part of the promotion for Master of Orion III. The game is available from FilePlanet (please see the download link below). The built-on copy protection is disabled.
