Game description
Tristix is a Tetris variant for up to four players, with many customization options. The default game mode uses many new pieces which are technically not tetrominoes, as they may be comprised of any number of individual blocks from one to five. However, it is possible to play with classic tetromino pieces only as well.
Additionally, there are various bonuses which can be activated by clearing a line with the corresponding special block, ranging from a bomb that removes all blocks in a certain radius to a "dopper" piece that allows the player to drop individual blocks in desired locations. The game features colourful graphics and nice music.
Tristix was originally sold as shareware, but author Evan Salomon made the full version available as freeware on 11 October 2001. The full game was also available from Theodor Lauppert's website.
