Game description

Inherit the Earth is an animated point-and-click adventure game featuring sentient anthropomorphic animals (called the Morphs) who live in a late Mediaeval/early Renaissance-like society after the apparent collapse of the human civilization.

The main character is a male fox called Rif who is falsely accused of stealing an artifact known as the Orb of Storms, but is given a limited time to try to locate and recover the orb from the true thief. Rif is accompanied by Eah the Elk and Okk the Boar, who watch over him, but also provide valuable help as the game progresses.

The game features many characters, animated scenes and puzzles. The main characters will visit many different sites, including ruins of the human civilization. Originally released for DOS only, Inherit the Earth was later made available for Windows, Linux and Macintosh, with its engine's source code incorporated into ScummVM. There is also an official webcomic featuring the characters from the game.
