Game description
TechnoVenture is a fairly obscure side-scrolling platformer with some pronounced adventure elements. Set in some kind of distant future, it features a friendly robot as the protagonist who is sent on various missions to help inhabitants of different planets. The robot can use a "stun ray" weapon, a jetpack and other helpful items which may be found throughout the game worlds, such as a wrench to disable force barriers and bombs to clear passages.
The game was originally developed for the Amiga and as such has very simple but distinct visuals, no music and only basic sound effects. It was ported to DOS in 1997 and then to Windows later in the same year, before the author declared it freeware in 2001. A map editor is also available, although it is not known if any user maps were ever created for TechnoVenture.
The DOS version is the shareware release and lacks some of the quests, but these could later downloaded separately from the author's page, and are now included in the tvpcext.zip archive. The Windows version is the proper freeware release with all content already in.
