Game description
Runaway is a point-and-click adventure game about a monkey that escapes from the zoo and wants to travel back home to Africa. Just like in any other adventure game of this type. you will need to solve various puzzles by finding and combining items and talking to characters for hints. The difference is that you're going to talk to animals, not humans, and that Runaway (it's the monkey's name, by the way) does not have an "inventory" and can only carry one item at a time.
The game starts with Runaway locked in a zoo cage, so you'll need to figure the way out first. From there, you're free to explore the zoo, but be ware of the zookeeper -- should Runaway be caught, it's back to square one. The game will automatically save your progress upon exit, but manual save and load is also possible.
Runaway was originally marketed as shareware, but in 2017 The Pixel Team made the registered version available as a free download from their site. Please note that this version starts with a saved game that already has a few of the initial puzzles solved. To play exactly from the beginning, you need to restart the game from the menu. If you play in English (the language can be changed in the options), note that when the game asks you to press Y to restart, you need to actually press J for this to work. The pre-installed version already starts from the beginning.
