Game description
Rooms of the Abyss is a fairly simple first-person dungeon crawler. The player controls Sir Mark Wolfe, a brave knight who needs to overcome the test of the Rooms of the Abyss and find magical items that will help him defeat the evil wizard Deerg who killed the king and usurped the throne.
Movement is grid-based, and taking one step will move you from the current room to the next (somewhat similar to SerpentHead). You may find a useful item, a chest or a monster in any room. Fighting monsters is turn-based and defeating them yields experience points.
The game was originally sold as shareware, but eventually author Mark Binder released the registered version as a free download.
