Game description
MULE is an unofficial, open source conversion of Ozark Software's M.U.L.E., a strategic game of exploration and management for up to four players.
The game is played in turns, which are limited in time and are split into several phases. These include picking land plots to colonize and assigning MULEs (Multiple Use Labour Elements) to work on these to produce food, ore, energy and other resources. There are also auctions where players can trade with each other to sell excess supplies or buy additional resources. The overarching objective is to keep the colony running while amassing as much wealth as possible.
MULE was released by author Toni Räsänen as a free, open source game along with its source code. The latest version is 0.61 which is fully playable, but lacks certain features. The AI is functional and it is possible to play either on the classic map size comparable to the original M.U.L.E. or on a larger map.
