Game description
Drilling Billy is an arcade puzzle platformer clearly inspired by Lode Runner, but not entirely identical in gameplay. You control Billy, a boy who needs to clear each level of animated objects that try to catch him. To do so, he digs holes to trap the monsters, then mends the holes to make them disappear altogether. Such monsters leave bonus items to be picked up for score.
Digging the holes takes some time in which Billy is vulnerable (any contact with a monster means losing a life). Partially dug holes will trap monsters but they cannot be mended. Eventually any trapped monster will climb out and continue to pursue Billy unless the hole is closed.
Each level takes one screen and must be cleared of all enemies in a limited amount of time. The playable demo has several levels in two settings: Jungle and Construction Site, with appropriately themed monsters.
