Game description

Bowser's Castle is a Mario fangame that plays as a combination of a maze, puzzle game and shooter. Designed for one or two players, it features Mario and Luigi taking on the horrors of Bowser's Castle, represented as a series of single-screen rooms, with some mazelike features. The objective of each room is to reach the star that signifies the end of the level.

The brothers are opposed by the usual host of Bowser's minions. Some can be taken care of by shots provided by picking up flowers, but others cannot be harmed and must be avoided. There are also pushable blocks that can counter certain hazards and enemy attacks, so an element of Soko-Ban is also present.

Bowser's Castle was written in QBasic 1.1 and released as freeware.
