Game description
ARK... is a fairly straightforward clone of Taito's Arkanoid. The author, Scott DeMers, was disappointed with the IBM PC version of that game, and proceeded to create his own. It features high-resolution EGA graphics and implements the basic gameplay of Arkanoid, namely using the ball to break bricks on the screen and creatures that move around and can be hit by the ball as well. However, there are no bonuses that fall from bricks in this game, making playing a bit repetitive. For a more full-featured Arkanoid clone from the same era, you can try PopCorn.
ARK... was created with Microsoft QuickBasic and distributed as shareware. The unregistered version contains the full game with 33 levels and no restrictions, but the author encouraged users to register for a small fee. It is possible for users to create new levels using a simple text editor, with the process explained in the readme file.
